Getting Ready to Grow Veggies and Fruit indoors

May 2, 2012

If you do not have a yard, you should not forget about wanting a fruit or veggie garden. Even if you live in an apartment building without much land around it, you can plant your own edible garden in pots and containers. How? Plant them indoors.

All you need to do is find out which fruits and veggies thrive indoors. For example, leaf lettuce and root veggies grow well indoors. Root veggies grow underneath the ground away from direct sunlight anyway. Strawberries and blueberries, on the other hand, can grow on your windowsill, secured in pots. In fact, you can even grow Tophat blueberries indoors.

Plant your chosen fruits and veggies in pots; making sure they get the proper care they require. If you want plants that need minimal care ,choose herbs. It would certainly be fun to have these herbs readily in hand when it is time to cook. There is no need to go out to the market or to an outside garden. Just give your herbs a quick 'hair cut' whenever you feel like  cooking. Fresh, easy, and tasty. What's not to like, right?

So what if you don’t have much land? You can still grow your edible garden right inside your home.
